Understand and fix error status in sequences

You've probably already encountered this error in ZELIQ, in a running sequence. 😢

ZELIQ's updated error-handling feature provides a quick way to address common issues in email and LinkedIn sequences, including missing data, account setup problems, and other sequence-related errors.

This guide walks you through resolving typical sequence errors so you can keep your workflow uninterrupted. 🦾

General Sequence Errors

👤 Unassigned Lead

If a lead is unassigned, you’ll need to select a sender (you or your colleague). Once a sender is chosen, the sequence will automatically resume the day after.

👻 Missing Variables

Missing personalization variables (e.g., {Country} or {IceBreaker}) can disrupt the sequence. Use the preview feature to locate missing fields, replace them, and relaunch the sequence.

LinkedIn-Specific Errors

🔗 Add a LinkedIn Account

If you haven’t connected LinkedIn, you’ll be redirected to install the Chrome extension and log in.

🔑 Sign in with LinkedIn

Log into your LinkedIn account here if you aren’t already connected to your browser.

🔄 Refresh Cookie Session

If the LinkedIn session expires, click "Refresh Cookie Session" to re-authenticate.

❌ Not Friend

If you’re trying to send a message to a lead who isn’t a LinkedIn connection, this error appears. Send a friend request, and once accepted, the pending message will automatically be sent.

🌐 LinkedIn URL Missing

Add the lead’s LinkedIn profile URL to proceed with the sequence.

Email-Specific Errors (Gmail & Outlook)

📧 Sign in with Outlook or Gmail

If you haven’t connected your email, you’ll need to sign in and accept permissions to enable message sends.

🕵️ The Lead Has No Email Address

If a lead lacks an email, you can:

  • Manually add an email.

  • Select an existing email.

  • Use an enrichment tool to update contact details and relaunch the sequence.

📩 Email Bounced

When an email bounces, you can:

  • Select a different email.

  • Add a new email.

  • Enrich the contact to find an updated email.

🙅 Invalid Email Address

If an email address is marked invalid, update it by:

  • Choosing another valid email.

  • Manually adding a new email.

  • Enriching the contact with a verified email.

🚫 Lead Unsubscribed

When a lead unsubscribes, the sequence stops, and further outreach to that lead is disabled.

🚀 Error Handling & Automatic Relaunch

  • Error-Dependent Display:

    • Email-related errors only appear for sequences containing email steps.

    • LinkedIn-related errors appear for sequences with LinkedIn actions.

  • Automatic Relaunch: Once an error is resolved, the sequence will relaunch automatically, reducing the need for manual intervention.
