Remove leads from a sequence

How to remove leads from sequence

Updated today

Need to stop a sequence for a specific prospect without affecting the rest? Here's how to easily remove a single lead (or more) from your running sequence.

When to remove a lead from a sequence

Remove a lead from your sequence when:

  • The prospect has already responded through another channel

  • You want to handle this contact manually

  • The lead is no longer relevant for this campaign

  • You need to stop outreach for this specific person

💡 Good to know:

  • Removing a lead from a sequence is different from pausing the entire sequence. This action only affects the selected prospect.

  • If you are on a custom plan, only "Manager" or "Admin" roles can remove leads from sequence. Not "User" role.

How to Remove a Lead from a Sequence

Step 1: Access your sequence

  • Go to the Sequences tab

  • Click on the sequence's name containing the lead you want to remove

Step 2: Select the lead

  • In "Select the leads" tab, find the prospect you want to remove from the list

  • Check the box next to the lead's name (you can select multiple leads)

Step 3: Remove from sequence

  • A green floating action bar will appear at the bottom of your screen

  • Click on "More options"

  • Then on "Remove from sequence"

That's it! The sequence stops immediately for this lead, while the other prospects continue their journey normally.

Important to know

  • The action is immediate: Once removed, scheduled steps for this lead are canceled

  • No impact on other leads: Only the selected prospect is affected

  • Cannot be undone automatically: To add the lead back, you'll need to add them to the sequence again from the beginning

Alternative: Skip individual steps

If you don't want to remove the entire lead but just skip a specific step, use the Skip Step feature:

  1. Locate the donut icon representing the lead's progress

  2. Hover over the donut and click on ">"

  3. Select the step you want to skip

  4. Click "Skip step"
